Phoenix Monsoons
#MonsoonSZN
The Phoenix Monsoons (EST. 2024) are a franchise based in Phoenix, Arizona. The Monsoons compete in the Alliance of Fantasy Football Champions League and Alliance Basketball Association.
Loyal to the soil in Phoenix, the Monsoons were quick to claim a vacancy in Phoenix and have long established a foothold as the flagship franchise of the Alliance in the desert.
The Monsoons in their short history have found themselves in wonderful positions as the history of the Alliance plays out in real time, both in basketball and football terms.
About the Owner
Loyalty had joined the Alliance in 2024 to try out both fantasy football and basketball. A Phoenix man through and through, it was no shock the location was snatched fast with the iconic thunder-bird and culturally significant weather in the valley representing the franchise.
Mostly a basketball and baseball fan, Loyalty has branched into other sports for more fun within the Alliance, and is seen as a valuable and active member by fellow league mates.

History
2024
The debut season in the AFF for the Monsoons was one that left a lot to be desired. Winning the Ice division of C2 with the league best record was certainly an accolade worth celebrating, but the finish to the season getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs was quite the disappointing one. Still, players like Trey McBride and Travis Kelce provided much in the way of entertainment for the Monsoons on a week-to-week basis, making the 9-5 finish possible in the first place with a lot to look ahead for in a positive light.
2025
The Monsoons enjoyed the second-most successful debut to the Alliance Basketball Association, boasting an 11-6 record in the Western Conference, which was good enough to earn an automatic playoff bid as the #2 seed within the conference. While the roster was not full of players who would be considered superstars, the Monsoons were a tough and gritty bunch who fought hard week in, week out. In no small part of this fighting mentality, the Monsoons became the first ever winners of the Western Conference, facing off against the juggernaut Tokyo Yokai team in the finals who eventually proved to be too much for the Cinderella story team from Phoenix.
The AFF wasn’t as generous to the Monsoons, who struggled out the gate early due to severe injuries, notably to first round draft pick George Kittle. The injury bug ravaged the Monsoons throughout the year, and they were never able to get off the ground more than enough to just barely escape the relegation zone at 5-9. Even making trades for a player like Sam LaPorta was a spell of doom for the Monsoons, as the week after acquiring the young TE, an injury would sideline him for the rest of the year. That’s not to say that there were no bright spots, though. As Drake “Drake Maye” Maye was a standout who kept the team afloat and out of the relegation zone.
