2023
The 2023 AA Cup was the inaugural year of the competition, including the 16 teams in the Champions League competing in the format that is familiar today. In the first year, the Florida Stingrays and Salt Lake Saints (Tokyo Yokai) would go on fantastic runs to make it all the way to the finals. The Saints (Yokai) in specific barely making it past their semifinal matchup by less than a point. Meanwhile, Florida had enjoyed a run of success all through the bracket, taking care of business against the Queens in the semifinal. The Kansas City Knights (Bucharest Vampires) would end up beating the injury riddled Cincinnati Queens in the 3rd place game. The finals would represent this between the two sides, with the Saints ending up claiming 2nd place and the Stingrays lifting the first AA Cup.
2024
2024 saw an expansion to the AFF, which in turn expanded the pool of the Alliance Association Cup. The format would see itself turn into a multi-league competition, the same restrictions on matchups in place through the bracket. For the first tier league (Champions League), this format introduced the most amount of rounds they will have to go through in order to win the AA Cup in all future competitions. The 2nd tier competition (Challenger League) had performed on par with the Champions League, being represented quite evenly until the AA Cup Final, with 2 teams from the C1 and C2 being in the semifinal. The Grand Rapids Rampage was unable to maintain an electric run of form against the Cincinnati Queens, while the Tokyo Yokai were too much for the Berlin Brewmeisters who had suffered the loss of star RB CMC in the week 13 clash. The Rapids would take care of business to claim their 3rd place title. The Queens and Yokai would play each other in the AA Cup Final and the Champions League 3rd place game, each having successful weeks in the final 2 clashes of the season, but splitting their two meetings. The Queens would claim 2nd place in the AA Cup, and claim 3rd place in the Champions League. The Yokai, despite losing in the C1 3rd place game, they would lift the 2024 AA Cup.
